In all my years as a classical music student listening and playing in concert halls, recital halls, orchestra pits and outdoor venues, I've never been part of a house concert and it's true - this is how much of this music was meant to be heard. Good for you to revive this! What fun!

Thank you for a wonderful evening of first-cass music. Your choice of composers was excellent for this setting. What impressed me most was your obvious command of your instrument. Thank you so very much and best wishes for a successful career.

I am overcome by the talent that Nino Cocchiarella has. Weymouth was jumping up and more 'encores' than I've ever heard in this wonderful, elegant Great Room. He is truly incredible. We want him to come back.

The Estampes was as beautiful as I've ever heard it. It was so expressive and fluent. The Rachmaninoff was overwhelming with its darkness and depth and power. His technique was incredible. He was all over the piano. I thought it was Rachmaninoff himself.

Mr. Cocchiarella gave a brilliant, dazzling and fiery piano performance at Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities Nov. 4 in the Great Room. He displayed not only skill as a technician but sensitivity as a pianist. Especially impressive, precise, light and soft touch was Debussy's Estampes which contrasted with the lightning speed of Rachmanioff's Sonata No. 2 in B-Flat Minor. Mr. Cocchiarella is definitely on his way to becoming a Super Star in the Classical Music World.

Nino Cocchiarella gave a wonderful performance to a room full of very appreciative listeners last Sunday afternoon at the Weymouth Center in Southern Pines. He was powerful where needed and quiet and sensitive when needed. He listened to every note he played creating a beautiful sound. It was a delightful afternoon and I was sorry when it was over. He has a wonderful understanding of the different styles of Mozart, Debussy and Rachmaninoff. Bravo, Nino!

I was in awe of your handling of the different styles in your concert. I loved the Mozart! Every note was so clear and delicate where it needed to be and the orchestral colors, combined with the laughing and shouting sounds, made me feel that I was really at an opera. Your use of the pedal made everything so clean and clear. The Debussy was beautiful. I especially loved the Gardens in the Rain. Your touch was perfect for this shimmering Impressionistic piece, with the raindrops so evident. The melody projected very well. The Rachmaninoff has to be so technically demanding and you definitely are up to it. It is quite triumphant and powerful and I felt tremendous excitement in your handling of it.

Mr. Cocchiarella has a very graceful flowing style of playing the piano. I think there is a real bond between him and his instrument; he plays with just the right delicacy or passion and puts across the emotion of the piece very well. He can also play at incredibly fast rates of speed. Also I am impressed at his ability to play such difficult music without the score. I loved the darkening of the concert hall with only a spotlight on him because that made it easier to focus on his large hands with long fingers. Lastly but this is an aside his selection of pieces was excellent. They were wither beautiful of shocking (with wildly changing dynamics) and both were enjoyable. He is a thin, romantic figure with light curly hair and an aquiline nose - not that that improved his playing, but it made him more fun to watch. He is a modern-day Liszt.

I loved how gently he touched the keys. He made the piano sing. Loved how delicately he played the Handel, especially. Gorgeous. Loved how he didn't leave the stage between pieces, but just sat back down. This allowed the audience to stay in the moment. Loved how each movement of the Debussy flowed into the next. Loved the lighting. It really helped to bring focus to the performer and it calmed the audience (we're usually a fairly noisy group. People think it's ok to cough continuously. ugh.) This is cliche, but during the Debussy I felt as if I were sitting quietly watching the rain fall out through a window. EXQuisite.
